She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in addition to being a registered nurse.

Katie has extensive experience in a variety of healthcare settings treating both adults and children. Her clinical interests include intentions of caring for the whole person, especially those with lesser resources and greater vulnerabilities. She was a part of a health coalition that developed a pediatric medical home for those without insurance, private insurance, and Medicaid insurance. She looks forward to taking more overseas trips to use her skills to teach and provide care.

Katie’s father is an Army veteran, internationally known neurotologist and researcher who studies therapies for noise-induced hearing loss, tinnitus and traumatic brain injuries. Katie is grateful to be following in his specialty. When she’s not working, Katie enjoys walking, crafting, not cooking and being with her husband, two children, family and friends.
