Did you know that otolaryngologists, better known as ENTs, helped develop current allergy testing techniques and immunotherapy treatment?
John Park, M.D., otolaryngologist at ENT Associates, a division of Sound Health Services, says that “Over the years, otolaryngologists have gravitated toward treating allergic disease that affects the nasal passages, sinuses and airway. I see patients every day with symptoms such as nasal congestion, post-nasal drainage, recurrent sinusitis, cough, hoarseness and dizziness, which could have allergies as the root cause.
“Our goal as ENTs is to find the ultimate cause of these symptoms and provide the expert medical and surgical treatment of the associated conditions since the nose and airway is our specialty,” he added.
